Reknit was launched on January 4th, 2010 as a small project to share a resourceful family tradition with the world, and to encourage my mom to partake in her hobby more often. The project is based around the idea of reclaiming yarn from old clothes, and reknitting that yarn into something new and useful. It’s a really simple form of re-using/re-purposing that can be very fun. The project has gotten a very warm response from all over the world, and thus far has been featured on GOOD, Discovery’s Planet Green, The Zoe Report & UrbanDaddy to name a few. The site will feature a different item each month, which will be decided by user submitted votes. Check out Reknit for yourself!

Identity for Cunningham Elementary School in Austin, TX.

This Spring 2010, The Urban Forest Project will plant banners by local artists and designers on light poles throughout Toledo. Each banner will use the form or metaphor for the tree to make a powerful visual statement about the environment. Together they’ll create a forest of thoughtful images in the urban landscape and raise awareness of sustainability and youth mentoring.

Designed for Gor Mkhitarian’s latest album titled “Spirit”. The bilingual nature of the release required that all the information be in both Armenian and English. Instead of having 2 titles on the cover, I created a bi-lingual ambigram that read “Spirit” in english initially, and the same but in Armenian when turned upside down.

Digitalomo was my housing solution for the hundreds of mobile photos that I ended up taking. The project was meant to be a personal one, but as more people showed interest in posting their photos, I made it public and had about a dozen regular contributors. Then Facebook Mobile photo posting was developed and this idea sort of became obsolete as I started posting photos directly from my phone onto Facebook.
